<p>An ultrafiltration device for the sterilization of water, comprising a filter housing (10) provided with an inlet (11) and an outlet (12) connection and provided in said filter housing a bundle of capillary ultrafiltration membranes (20), a first end (21) of said capillary membranes (20) being open and another end (22) being closed, and being at the first end (21) cased in a membrane holder (30) closing off the space between the capillary membranes (20) and the filter housing (10). The hydrophillic ultrafiltration membranes (20) are asymmetrical, with the large pores being arranged at the approach side (outside) of the membrane and the small pores at the inside or the other way round, in that the first end (21) forms a permeate outlet of a capillary ultrafiltration membrane, and that at least one hydrophobic capillary membrane (25) is included in the bundle of capillary hydrophillic ultrafiltration membranes (20), the hydrophobic capillary membrane (25) is at a first end (21) open and at the other end (22) closed, and is cased at the first end in the membrane holder (30). Preferably the filter housing (10) is made from a flexible material. Usually the hydrophobic membrane (25) is made from a hydrophobic material such as nylon, polysulphone, polyether sulphone or another suitable material. It is an advantage if the device according to the invention is provided with a carbon filter.</p> |
