Method for compensating periodic disturbances in control loop

The method involves feeding the control error to an additional multivariable controller. The input variables for this controller are obtained by periodic sampling and holding of the control errors for specific values of the disturbance phase angle with if necessary prefiltering of the control variable. Likewise controlled by the disturbance phase angle from the output signals of the multivariable controller one is periodically selected as compensation signal. This is then fed to the control input of the process to be controlled. The multivariable controller can consist of a series of uncoupled single variable controllers
