Domestic oven with interior illuminated during operation

The interior illumination of the oven is controlled by the user by an axial movement of the heat selection control switch shaft without influencing the heat setting. The usual rotary control for selecting the heating level of a cooking oven connects to a rod which operates the control unit and also an indicator light which is illuminated at all settings except the 'OFF' position. Normally an interior light is also activated to illuminate the item being cooked. The invention provides for an additional axial movement of the control to selectively operate the interior light without affecting the heat setting.
