The present invention relates to compositions comprising a compound of formula (A), wherein R<1>, R<2>, m, n, p and q have the meanings given in the description, and k is a number between 1 and 3, provided that the total number of carbon atoms in the compound of formula (A) is between 12(k+1) and 22(k+1). When k is 1, the composition comprises at least 35 %, preferably at least 60 %, or even 90 % of the compound of formula (A), whereas when k is > 1, it comprises at least 15 %, preferably at least 30 %, or even 45 % of said compound. Also disclosed are a process for the preparation of said compositions as well as their use as building blocks in subsequent further processing for use for polymers, paints, inks, etc.
