Saccharide(s) are used in the manufacture of biocompatible glue for adhering a first structure to the surface of a second structure. Also claimed are: (1) the biocompatible glue prepared; (2) a method of adhering a first structure to the surface of a second structure comprising applying a coating of the biocompatible glue as above to one of the structures; (3) a method of treatment of human/animal body by surgery including releasably securing a medical structure to a surgical instrument using the biocompatible glue and then transferring the structure from the instrument to a surface of a structure of the human or animal body; and (4) a medical device comprising a patch of polymeric material and a coating of the biocompatible glue for adhering the patch to the surface of a structure in the human/animal body. |
