Water is supplied to a fish farm (5) from a tank (3) which contains gas (Vg) including a high percentage of oxygen and water (Ve) which is being treated. Sensors (31, 33) detect the percentage of oxygen in the water arriving for treatment and that being fed to the fish farm. The sensor (31, 33) signals are sent to, for example, a microprocessor (35) which compares the percentage oxygenation of the water being supplied to the fish farm with a standard and operates if necessary to open an oxygen supply valve (25). The opening time is determined from the equipment characteristics and the input and output oxygenation levels and is followed by a calculated period when the oxygen valve is closed.
