PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a powder coating material for cast-iron pipes, excellent in low-temperature curability and storage stability, and capable of giving a coating film excellent in corrosionproofness, adhesiveness, water resistance and chemical resistance, by including a specific solid bisphenol type epoxy resin and a phenolic curing agent as the essential components. SOLUTION: This powder coating material essentially comprises (A) a solid bisphenol type epoxy resin 0.03-0.07 meq/g inα-glycol content, <=200 ppm in hydrolyzable chlorine content and 740-1,300 g/eq in epoxy quedivalent, and formed by reaction of a bisphenol compound with a liquid bisphenol type epoxy resin and (B) a phenolic curing agent of the formula (R is H, a 1-4C alkyl or phenyl; (n) is 0-6) such as a bisphenol-based curing agent, with the equivalent ratio of the epoxy group in the component A to the active hydrogen in the component B being pref. (1.0:0.6) to (1.0:1.2).
