An optical threshold circuit including an optical interferometer receiving input-side intensity-modulated light and CW-light and equipped with an interferometer branch with a laser (laser 1) having a fixed level phase change (Phi laser) above a threshold. On the output side, a filter is provided for blocking light of the input wavelength (lambda in) and the laser wavelength light (lambda laser). In its outer branch, the interferometer (MZI;MI) has a second laser (laser 2) with a phase change limited to a second fixed value above a threshold for all input light levels (Pin), where the fixed phase change value of the last laser (laser 2) differs by Pi from that of the first laser (laser 1).
