PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for readily producing a precipitated calcium carbonate light slurry at an ultrahigh concentration which is a precipitation calcium carbonate light slurry, excellent in fluidity at a high concentration, especially as precipitated calcium carbonate light for coating, and further excellent in whiteness degree, opacity, air permeability, oil absorptivity, etc. SOLUTION: A spindle-shaped precipitated calcium carbonate light slurry obtained by utilizing a carbonating reaction is dehydrated and concentrated with a filter press to provide a cake with >=70 wt.% solid content. At least a dispersing agent is then added to the resultant cake and dispersed with a stirrer to prepare a calcium carbonate light slurry at a high concentration, which is then treated by wet disintegration to afford a precipitated calcium carbonate light slurry having <=2μm average particle diameter and >=68 wt.% solid concentration.
