PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an epoxy resin emulsion improved in application properties, film performances, dispersedness and viscosity stability by neutralizing an epoxy acrylate composition obtained by radical-polymerizing an acrylic monomer in the presence of a bisphenol copolymer epoxy resin having a specified epoxy value and emulsifying the neutralized composition in water. SOLUTION: An acrylic monomer essentially consisting of a carboxylic acid component is radial-polymerized in the presence of a bisphenol epoxy resin containing bisphenol A and bisphenol F in a molar ratio of 2/8 to 8/2 and having a number-average molecular weight of 7,000-5,000, a weight-average molecular weight of 30,000-70,000, an epoxy value of 8-30 milliequivalents per 100 g of the resin and a phenolic hydroxyl value of 5 milliequivalents per 100 g of the resin to obtain an epoxy acrylate mixture comprising 75-95 pts.wt. epoxy resin and 5-25 pts.wt. acrylic resin per 100 pts.wt. resin. This is neutralized with a basic compound and then emulsified in water to obtained an emulsion having a mean particle diameter of 0.1-0.8μm.
