The system consists of at least one gripper (12) carried by a mobile supporting arm (13) actuated by a drive (M) so that it can go into the magazine and come out with at least one propellant charge module (3). Each gripper has two forks (12a, 12b) set opposite one another with a gap between them to hold a module. The magazine has one or more compartments (5) to store rows of modules, each compartment being bounded by two partitions (7) with spacers between to separate the modules from one another and leave gaps for the forks, one of which is equipped with a tilting retaining element which can operate automatically or be electrically or pneumatically actuated.
