PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for bleaching a long fabric, enabling to bleach the long fabric in a shortened reaction time while saving the heat energy and improve the touch and whiteness of the long fabric, by immersing the long woven or knitted fabric in an aqueous solution containing sodium borohydride and an alcohol and subsequently leaving the treated fabric in the atmosphere. SOLUTION: This method for bleaching a long fabric 1 comprises immersing the long woven or knitted fabric 1 in an aqueous solution 7 containing sodium borohydride and an alcohol and subsequently leaving the treated long fabric 1 in the atmosphere or exposing the treated long fabric to heated moisture to bleach the fabric. The long woven or knitted fabric 1 is preferably immersed in an aqueous sodium borohydride solution and subsequently immersed in an alcohol solution. |
