PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rigid, micro coating type ink jet recording sheet excellent in absorption and clearness of ink in which fluctuation of coating is eliminated from the surface of an ink receiving layer. SOLUTION: The recording sheet employs a material paper composed of nonwood pulse having mean fiber width of 10-20 μm and weight average fiber length of 0.3-1.2 mm and an ink receiving layer composition principally comprising nonspherical cationic colloidal silica is provided on the material paper. Preferably, the nonwood pulse is bamboo pulse and the nonspherical cationic collidal silica is acicuiar or fibrous. |
