PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-quality ultrasonic picture by interpolating so as to put an interpolating point on a smooth curve on a coordinate plane, which is obtained by setting gain levels at the plural points in a time sequential order in the output signal area of a wave receiving means to set time to a horizontal axis and a gain level to a vertical axis, so as to generate an STC signal. SOLUTION: A wave receiving circuit 5 wave-receives an echo signal from an ultrasonic probe 4, an A/D converting circuit 6 converts it to a digital signal, an arithmetic circuit 7 generates image data, a DSC circuit 8 generates a video signal and a display device 9 displays a diagnostic picture. In addition, an STC signal generating circuit 10 generates an STC signal for time-controlling a gain level suited to the depth of an examinee at the time of wave receiving the echo signal and outputs it to the circuit 5. A main control circuit 11 generates STC data by executing interpolating arithmetic processing based on an STC volume value given by an operation setting part 12, transfers it to a signal generation circuit 10 and controls the circuits 7 and 8 in addition. |
