PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a formed chip by baking in an oven, low in oil and fat content, having no undesirable appearance caused by bottom rising, heat swelling, etc., and to provide a method for producing the formed chips. SOLUTION: A raw material containing >=50% in a dry weight ratio of a pregelatinized starchy raw material is used to prepare a dough. The dough is used to form a sheet of a fixed shape provided with channels reaching the edges at fixed intervals at least on one side. The sheet containing the channels at least on one side thus prepared is placed on a steel band to make the channels a lower side or on a mesh band and backed in an oven to give the objective formed chip. The formed chip 10 has the channels 11 reaching the edges at least on one side and has no bottom rising, no random heat swelling, etc. |
