Connector for backplanes

The plug connector for back-panel wiring has a multipoint plug strip formed as a rectangular housing open at the side. This plugs into a back-panel circuit board. The connector also has a multiple connector strip which plugs into the plug strip and is fixedly connected to a circuit board. The male and female contacts are arranged in parallel in several rows. The individual contact springs are surrounded by electrically conductive screen plates which are connected at the back and also as contacts to which a corresponding potential is applied. The multiple contact strip housing has receiving chambers passing through it. Metallic tubes (4) are inserted into these chambers. Contacts springs (5) moulded with plastic (12) are laid int he tubes (4) such that the middle conductor is central relative to the tube (4).
