PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an animal hair-based fiber fabric free from heat generation attributable to moisture absorption or water absorption and rich in coolness so as to enable comfortable wearing even in the summer, by applying a gas- phase reaction treatment using formalin to the animal hair-based fiber fabric. SOLUTION: Woven fabrics of 100% wool or shirt sewn products thereof are allowed to stand for 24 hr in a thermostatic constant-humidity chamber at 20 deg.C and 65% RH to evenly adjust their water contents. Thereafter, they are brought into a gas phase processing apparatus of a normal-pressure closed type, a formaldehyde gas of 1-20% in concentration is fed to make the wool products absorb the gas, and the wool products are treated at a temperature ranging from 100 to 180 deg.C for 0.5-10 min to complete crosslinking reaction. Thus, amino groups and carboxyl groups of the wool fiber are blocked. |
