PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent intake resistance from becoming excessively large by forming a swirl control plate provided in an intake passage out of a plate spring member, providing the movable part capably of elastically abutting along the circumferential inside wall, and forming the vertical cross section of the movable part so as to be along the circumferential inside wall. SOLUTION: A swirl control plate 16 is provided in an intake passage 2 communicating to the interior of a cylinder through a vortex generating chamber 4, and the swirl control plate 16 can be adjusted in position by a gorverner control device 20. In this case, the swirl control plate 16 is constituted of a plate spring member, the base end part 16a is fixedly secured along the circumferential inside wall of the intake passage 2, the movable part 16b is provided along the circumferential inside wall capably of elastically contacting by utilizing the high stiffness, and the vertical cross section of the movable part 16b is formed so as to be along the circumferential inside wall. Thus in the low engine speed territory, the swirl control plate 16 gradually throttles the sectional area of the flow passage without largely changing the sectional form of the flow passage, and hence the swirl speed is prevented from lowering. |
