PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new mutant having triple defective mutations in hsl V/V gene, clp PX gene and lon gene, having a function for stabilizing unstable proteins expressed in Escherichia coli and useful for producing foreign proteins, etc. SOLUTION: This new Escherichia coli mutant KY 2266 strain (FERM BP-6239) or KY 2893 strain (FERM BP-6243) has triple defective mutations in hsl V/V gene, clp PX gene and lon gene, and has a function for stabilizing unstable proteins expressed in Escherichia coli. The mutant can be transformed with a vector capable of expressing a gene encoding a foreign protein, and used for producing the foreign protein, etc. The new Escherichia coli is obtained by introducing a detective mutation into the hsl V/V gene of an Escherichia coli having double defective mutations in the PX gene and lon gene. |
