PRODUCTION OF DIACETOXYBUTENE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce diacetoxybutene in high yield by acetoxylating butadiene. SOLUTION: A high-purity 1,3-butadiene having <=200 wt.ppm content of an acetylenic component in a raw material butadiene is used when reacting the butadiene with acetic acid and molecular oxygen in the presence of a palladium-based catalyst and producing diacetoxybutene.
