PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a required picture without using an expensive high-speed photography camera by employing a CCD camera for the molten state observation of a material to be machined and actuating the camera shutter in accordance with irradiation timing pulse from a laser light source. SOLUTION: The optical axis of a CCD camera 15 provided on the upper part of the laser irradiating part 14 is made coincident with the optical axis of the laser beam, with the focus of the laser beam adjusted to meet that of the CCD camera. The laser irradiating part 14 is equipped with a lens 14a and in addition a filter 14b for removing an infrared ray. With this CCD camera 15 connected to a camera monitor through a camera controller, the timing pulse imparted on each laser irradiation is passed into a trigger signal having a pulse interval of 1/30 second or faster in the delaying and thinning circuit of the camera controller and supplied to the CCD camera 15. The CCD camera 15 clicks the shutter in accordance with the trigger signal, transmitting the obtained image to the camera monitor. |
