LOCK DEVICE FOR SLIDE DOOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To open and close a slide door for vehicle by small force by providing a first input lever and a second input lever turnable selectively in an inside handle which opens and closes the slide door for vehicle and opening a lock mechanism when the door is opened and closed. SOLUTION: When a slide door is fully opened, a hook on door side is engaged with a striker on a vehicle body side to enter a lock condition (latch condition). When the door is closed from this condition, an inside handle 21 is turned clockwise, and a projection piece 27 of a handle lever 26 comes in contact with a first input lever 28 to turn the lever 28 counterclockwise. Since one end of the first input lever 28 is connected with a fully open lock lever 44 through a connection link 65 at this time, a fully open lock mechanism is brought into an unlatch condition so that the slide door can move in the direction of closing. The operation in the direction of door closing is transmitted through the first input lever and is not transmitted to a second input lever connected with a fully closed lock lever. Consequently, it is possible to reduce operation force.
