PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject additive maintaining polymer characteristics such as transparency while improving flame-retardant performances, by including a copolymer comprising a specific silicone compound. SOLUTION: This polymer comprises a copolymer of (A) an aryl-containing silicone compound, preferably a compound of formula I [Ar is a (substituted) aromatic group; R<1> and H, an (unsaturated) alkyl or an aromatic group: R<2> is a 1-18C alkyl, etc.; (x) is 0, 1 or 2; (n) is about 1 to about 100] and (B) a diorganopolysiloxane compound, preferably a compound of formula II (R<3> and R<4> are each a 1-18C alkyl, etc.; (m) is about 1 to about 100). Preferably the copolymer contains at least about 0.25 aryl group based on 1 silicon atom. |
