PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To profitably obtain the subject resin useful for various kinds of pipes, electric cables, etc., by preliminarily impregnating a granular linear low density ethylene-α-olefin copolymer with an unsaturated alkoxysilane, an organic peroxide, a silanol condensation catalyst, an antioxidizing agent, etc., and subsequently extruding the impregnated copolymer. SOLUTION: This resin is obtained by heating a granular linear low density ethylene-α-olefin copolymer at a temperature of 40 deg.C to the melting point of the copolymer, until the copolymer does substantially not contain water, adding water-crosslinking additives comprising an unsaturated alkoxysilane, an organic peroxide, a silanol condensation catalyst and an antioxidizing agent to the dried copolymer, and heating the composition at a temperature of 40 deg.C to the melting point of the linear low density ethylene-α-olefin copolymer for a time sufficient to impregnate the water-crosslinking additives into the linear low density ethylene-α-olefin copolymer.
