<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve steering feeling by generating viscosity compensating torque in an electric motor at the time of turning and returning operation of a steering wheel. SOLUTION: When a turn-return discriminating circuit 21 judges the turning operation of a steering wheel, a switch 14 is turned on. Thus, a viscosity compensating command value from a turning viscosity compensating command value decision circuit 13 is added to a basic assist command value to be transmitted to a motor current control circuit 11. On the other hand, when the turn-return discriminating circuit 21 judges the returning operation, a switch 18 is turned on. Thus, a viscosity compensating command value from a returning viscosity compensating command value decision circuit 17 is added to a basic assist command value to be transmitted to the motor current control circuit 11. Thus, according to the turning and returning operation of the steering wheel, viscosity torque is cancelled or apparently the torque of the same quality as the viscosity torque is generated to improve steering feeling.</p> |
