PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for surface-modifying a liquid crystal polymer film to give thereto improved adhesiveness and adhesion to other materials such as inks, release coatings and adhesion-resistant coatings. SOLUTION: This method is one for surface-modifying an aromatic liquid crystal polyester film, that comprises the steps of: (a) applying an adhesion accelerating coating to at least either surface of the film, (b) heating the film to a temperature exceeding the melting point of the polyester; and (c) applying pressure to the heated film to form a surface-modified liquid crystal film. It is possible that steps (b) and (c) can be carried out simultaneously. |
