PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a purified water discharge amount per unit to improve the handling properties and make the life of a filter medium longer to improve the economic efficiency by providing a silver ion eluting material and eluting silver ions of specified concentration into tap water of specified temperature and a membrane filter with holes of specified diameter as a filter medium. SOLUTION: A cartridge 1 stored in a pressure tank 2 is provided with three cylindrical chambers formed by four cylindrical net cases 11a, 11b, 11c and 11d of different diameter around which non-woven cloths are wound. Silver affixed ceramic 12, active carbon 13 and a membrane filter 14 are provided successively from the outside of an filter medium. Silver affixed ceramic 12 for affixing silver chloride to porous alumina ceramic grains and eluting silver ions of 10-100 ppb into tap water at 0-35 deg.C is used. When the positon on which the silver ion eluting material is fixed, no particular restrictions are applied as far as the position is on the water passage other than the cartridge 1. The membrane filter 14 with pores of diameter of 0.5-10μm is used.
