PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject activator capable of breaking the stratum corneum epidermidis of skin and being applied to the exposed epidermal Langerhans cells to prevent and treat virus-injected diseases, cancers, etc. by laminating an adhesive layer containing a protecting antigen in a state capable of being released to a support. SOLUTION: This activator is obtained by laminating an adhesive layer containing a protecting antigen such as a pathogenic microorganism, a peptide capable of being used as an antigen for preventing the infection of the microorganism, or a cancer cell-specific varied peptide, to one side of a support. The activator contains the protecting antigen, physically or chemically breaks the stratum corneum epidermidis of skin, acts on the surfaces of the exposed epidermal Langerhans cells, and is thereby extremely useful for preventing and treating intractable virus-infected diseases and cancers. The activator exhibits the therapeutic effects as follows: breaking the stratum corneum epidemidis of the skin to express MHC class I molecules on the surface of the exposed epidermal Langerhans cells, percutaneously inoculating the protecting antigen into the epidermis to activate the epidermal Langerhans cells in an antigen-specific state, transferring the activated epidermal Langerhans cells into lymph nodes, and activating the precursor killer-T cells in the lymph nodes.
|
