PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an EGR amount according to an engine load by connecting a variable area type ejector from the compressor of a supercharger to the intake side of an engine and returning exhaust gas from an exhaust system to this ejector. SOLUTION: When an engine 10 is started, exhaust gas (pressure p3) from an exhaust side line 14 is exhausted (pressure p4) by driving the turbine 15 of a supercharger 12, a compressor 13 is driven by its rotation and intake air (pressure p1) is compressed. The compressed air (pressure p2) is passed through an intake side line 11 and cooled by an intermediate cooler 16, passed through a variable area type ejector 17 and then supplied to the engine 10. In this case, the exhaust gas is not directly returned to the engine 10 side, but by returning the exhaust gas into the intake air pressure-reduced by the variable area type ejector 17 by an EGR line 18 including an EGR cooler 19 and an EGR control valve 20, an EGR amount necessary for the engine 10 is secured. |
