PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recorder in which ink is prevented from adhering to a contact face while reducing the size by specifying the size of an ink tank and a rank case such that the ink tank can be loaded removable while turning and regulating the dimensions of a tank case protrusion, a head cartridge and a carrier. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder comprises a carrier 203 carrying a head cartridge coupled with a recording head 200 and an ink tank 201 wherein the cartridge case is substantially formed into a rectangular prism having at least one one side. A space allowing free movement of the cartridge in the moving direction of carrier is set when the cartridge is encased in the cartridge case so that the cartridge can turn about one point of the cartridge case. The length of the cartridge case in the moving direction of carrier is set shorter than two times of the length of cartridge in the moving direction of carrier. |
