Method for detecting the actuation time of direction indicators for vehicles

The method is used to identify the time for actuation of vehicle direction indicator lights. The location and movement of the vehicle is determined with an on-board or external navigation system taking a traffic route network as a basis. The time point for actuation of the indicators is determined by analysis of the route driven since setting the indicators. The type of road may also be taken into account in the analysis. The change in direction of movement may also be determined with the navigation system.
