A spray attachment for a liquid container made of compressible resilient material coinprises a nozzle opening 2, Fig. 1, for atomized liquid and an air intake channel, of larger crosssection than the opening 2, which is controlled by a valve 6. On squeezing the container, the valve 6 is forced upwards until a disc 7 engages an annular projection 5 and closes the channel, liquid rises through a tube 4 which extends to the bottom of the container and is atomized by air flowing through a channel 13. On releasing the container, the valve falls until a ring 8 engages the projection 5 and air enters the container. As shown, the attachment has a screwthread for securing it to a bottle-neck and also has a snap closure member 12. The air intake channel may be recessed so that the valve is mounted below the channels top portion and the cap may have a stopper-like projection which, when the cap is closed, forms a tight seal in the top of the channel. The valve comprises the ring 8, Fig. 2, webs 10, a pin 9 and the disc 7 or, instead of the ring 8, the valve may have curved projections 14, Fig. 4. The attachment and the valve may be of synthetic plastic. |
