The invention refers to a variety of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) called "Record" which is obtained by genealogical selection with the participation of the 3 GA 234 and C 21001 lines, and is recommended for cultivation in all favourable areas in the country, for fresh consumption and industrialisation. This variety of plants is characterised by an average level of sturdiness, erect posture at the beginning of its vegetation, highly dense foliage, a small limb and foliage with a darker green colour than the reference variety called Cornison de Paris. The fruit is short to average in size, is 8-10 cm long, has a diameter of 3 cm, is cylindrical at the pistil end, and has a triangular or rounded triangular shape in cross section. The fruit has a beaded surface with black thorns, and is dark green with yellowish stripes when it reaches technical maturity, and orange when it reaches physiological maturity. The fruit has a smooth pulp, is crunchy and has no holes or bitter taste. Its vegetation period is 51-53 days. This variety displays high tolerance to the main pathogenic agents: the Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans bacteria, which causes angular spotting of the cucumber leaves, and the Pseudoperonospora cubensis fungus, which causes cucumber peronosporosis. This variety gives a stable production of 40-50 t/hectare.
