A floor drain is connected to a vacuum system for sucking out the content from the floor drain. The vacuum system is continuously in operation to effect said sucking-out. The floor drain (1) includes a valve device (2) with a valve seat (4) at the outlet (3) of said floor drain (1) connecting said floor drain (1) with the vacuum system, and with a movable valve body (5) in the floor drain (1). The valve body (5) cooperates with the valve seat (4) and closes the outlet (3) when the floor drain (1) is empty, and is affected by liquid which flows down into the floor drain (1) so that the outlet (3) is opened by movement of the valve body (5) relative to the valve seat (4), such that the negative pressure in the vacuum system can suck out said liquid from the floor drain (1). In order to provide a compact floor drain with a low structural height and yet a simple, by the liquid in the floor drain directly controlled, quick-acting valve device, said valve body (5) includes a part or member (5a) which is located eccentrically in relation to the valve seat (4) and which is moved when it is affected by liquid such that it, against the force from the negative pressure in the vacuum system wrenches the valve body (5) from its sealing engagement against the valve seat (4). |
