Sauna stove

The invention relates to a combination sauna stove which can be heated by burning wood or by electrical resistance. The sauna stove according to the invention comprises a brick-built sauna stove with a combustion chamber 7 in the middle of the sauna stove and an outer brick mantle 8 outside the combustion chamber. Between the combustion chamber 7 and the outer brick mantle 8 on three sides of the sauna stove there are resistance chambers 14. In the resistance chambers 14 are situated electrical resistors 1 for heating the sauna stove with electricity. The top 15 of the resistance chambers 14 is formed sloping, in order to protect the resistors from the direct effects of the sauna bath water and in order to conduct an airflow between the stones 10 in the sauna stove. Fresh air for the sauna stove's resistance chambers 14 is brought through ducts 5 which run through a bottom plate 11. The sauna stove comprises a resistor 2 which generates the heat which forms smoke from wood chips in a chip tray 16 in the event that the sauna stove is heated only with electricity. <IMAGE>
