<p>A telephone dialling monitoring and selecting apparatus (2) comprises a first connector (3) for connecting the unit, in use, to a telephone line and a second connector for connecting the unit, in use, to a telephone unit (1). The apparatus (2) also comprises telephone dialling monitoring means (4) connected to both the first and second connectors, for monitoring dialling signals from the telephone unit, and outputting signals to the telephone line in accordance with the monitored dialling signal and data stored in the monitoring means. There is also provided, within the apparatus (2), means (6, 7, C1 to C3, R1 to R5) for separating AC and DC signals provided via the telephone line and directing the AC signal and a portion of the DC signal to the telephone unit and a further portion of the DC signal to the monitoring means in order to power the apparatus.</p> |
