The invention concerns the use of water-soluble or lipid-soluble transition-metal compounds in lyotrophic mesophases in order to stimulate the haematopoietic system and/or for anti-tumour therapy, as well as pharmaceutical preparations containing such compounds and their preparation. Thus with liposomal carboplatin, for instance, an above-average increase in leukocyte numbers was obtained.
