FIELD: chemical industry, more particularly preparation of chlorinated aromatic thioethers. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes method of preparing <EMI ID=0.136 HE=3 WI=9 TI=CHI>- dichlorodiphenyl sulfide (DCHDPHS) used in the manufacture of sulphur containing polymers in thin organic synthesis. The claimed method comprises reacting diphenyl sulfide with sulfuryl chloride at molar ratio of 1: 2-2.2 at 18-25 C. Yield of DCHDPHS is 91%. The claimed method makes it possible to avoid using solvent and gaseous chlorine, and to increase yield of the desired product. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 2 exe
