Automatic system for creating film sub-titles

The system is an interface between three devices: a character generator (3) which includes a text processing module and which can also generate images; a high definition digital image generator (4) and an optical printing machine (7) with digital control. The information regarding text and images is transmitted to the digital image generator which saves it onto a black and white film (5). Colour and time position information is coded and saved on same film. The printing machine generates sub-titles for the original film.
