A water feeder for pressure feeding water to a desired location by the use of a volute pump, which comprises a volute pump (2) driven by a motor, a frequency converter (13) for supplying the motor with electricity, and a pressure tank (7). When frequencies generated by the frequency converter (13) are sensed to indicate that the pump is operated with a flow rate below a predetermined value, an output of the frequency converter is stopped to stop the pump. The frequency converter (13) is preset to generate higher frequencies in a region of small flow rates than in a region of large flow rates. |
