High efficiency bicycle driven by lever with cable and pulley driving rear wheel

The bicycle has a lever (1) which drives a cable (2) which has a fixing point (3) on the lever. The cable passes over a pulley (4) in order to drive the rear wheel. The fixing point can be adjusted to different positions along the lever between two axes (3 and 6). This adjustment of the fixing point allows the distance covered by the bicycle for one movement of the lever to be varied according to the terrain being travelled over. The lever may be actioned by stirrups similar to those used on a horse instead of pedals.
