The invention seeks to establish a charging method which guarantees accurate switchover of tariffs in the case of tariff changes, without causing load on the network with message bursts due to tariff messages. To this end, a current tariff and/or at least one next tariff, including associated tariff switchover time for the next tariff, are transferred in a tariff message.
