<p>A closure (10) for receipt and storage of a plurality of splice connections (62) and encapsulant (66). The closure (10) includes first and second cooperating shells (12, 14) defining a bounded region and being telescopically engageable with one another. The closure further includes a living hinge (16) for connecting the first and second shells (12 and 14). The hinge (16) extends continuously across at least one side of each of the shells (12, 14) and is located to allow one of the shells (12) to telescope within the other of the shells (14) when the shells are rotated from an open position to a closed position thus providing an encapsulant displacing force which continuously directs encapsulant (66) within the bounded region away from the living hinge (16) and toward the splice connections (62) contained therein.</p> |
