Mechanical endface seal

The endface seal (10) has a reinforcing ring (20) with L-shaped cross-section, having one radially orientated part (22) and one axially orientated part (24). The radially orientated part extends over a distance (X) measured from the axially orientated part. There is an elastomer covering (30) or jacket which encapsulates at least part of the reinforcing ring and is connected to this ring. There is also an elastomer sealing ring (40) with a sealing lip against the radially orientated part of the reinforcing ring.
