Reducing gases are heated to temps. in the region of or above 800 [deg]C, e.g. for steelworks processes, in a fired tube furnace in which gases pass in the tubes through a convection zone (K) and then through a radiation zone (S). Tubes are dimensioned so that only a small part of the tubes is in the temp. range between 600 and 750 [deg]C and this part is internally corrosion-protected. Operating life is expended by avoiding internal corrosion. |
