The machine has a rotatable brush arrangement mounted on a holder and driven by a motor (10). The brush arrangement consists of a rotation symmetrical brush roller (1) whose outer peripheral surface (4) is concave in the longitudinal direction. The brush roller is in the form of a rotation hyperboloid and has stiffer brushes in the end region than in the middle region. It can have a number of axially sequential brush discs.
