A railway vehicle truck assembly includes wheel sets (12) having longitudinally spaced, transversely extending axles (18), and wheels (14, 16) mounted to the axles, transversely spaced longitudinally extending side frames (22, 24) mounted to the axles (18), and a transversely extending bolster (34) mounted to the side frames (22, 24). The bolster (34) has a center bowl (36) and opposed, elongated bolster arms (38, 40) extending from the center bowl (36). The bolster arms (38, 40) each form spaced structural walls, a first of the structural walls of the bolster arms (38, 40) having a bolster anchor fitting defined thereon, and a second of the structural walls having a bolster anchor opening defined therethrough. The structural walls further define an inner cavity between the walls, and bolster anchors (58, 60) connect the side frames (22, 24) to the bolster (34). |
