According to the invention, small particles can be covered in a simple manner offering good adhesion with a coating consisting of a polyfunctional organosilane and/or a hydrolysis product thereof and/or the product of a reaction of said organosilane with an organosilane having a heteroatom and/or with an alkoxide.
