The invention concerns a device for fixing an element (1) to a thin support (2), comprising a catching part (5) capable of being engaged from the front in a hole (3) of the support and a locking part (6) which, by being driven into the catching part, ensures the expansion of the latter and its being fixed to the support. The locking part (6) comprises an external thread (19) and the catching part (5) has internally gripping means (13) co-operating with the locking part thread, to ensure the immobilisation of the locking part after it has been driven into the expanded catching part while allowing the locking part to be unscrewed for disassembling. The invention is useful for fixing elements on sheet metal supports, such as door panels in motor vehicles.
