<p>There is provided an organic electroluminescent device (61) comprising an electroluminescent element (62) enclosed by an air tight and waterproof housing (66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72) having an excellent shelf life and service life and a highly uniform luminous surface. The housing comprises electrical leadthroughs (69) which are provided on a shaped part (68) of the housing so as to be not in direct contact with the electroluminescent element (62). A simple method of manufacturing the electroluminescent device (61) and in particular the housing is also provided. Said method, which allows economical mass-production, includes silk-screen printing of various parts of the housing.</p> |
